It sometimes called \u201cONY\u201d (Oriented Nylon) film, derived from the brand name of polyamide resin \u201cNylon\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OPA film is known for its toughness and resistance to pinholes, making it suitable for packaging liquids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a melting point of 190\u00b0C, it cannot be heat-sealed and is typically used in laminated form. It has relatively good printability and lamination properties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Manufacturing Methods:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are three main methods for producing biaxially oriented polyamide film:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Toyobo has adopted the sequential biaxial stretching method and has continuously improved its technology to produce high-quality films.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Physical Properties:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OPA film has several excellent properties:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toughness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pinhole resistance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abrasion resistance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gas barrier properties<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heat and cold resistance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Non-toxic and odorless<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good ink and lamination adhesion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the weaknesses is that moisture absorption can cause dimensional changes and a decrease in stiffness. Additionally, extreme reductions in impact strength due to moisture and heat must be noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Figure 5 shows the relationship between humidity during film storage and the dimensional change rate of OPA film. Higher humidity in the storage location leads to greater elongation of the nylon film due to moisture absorption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Figure 6 shows the puncture strength of 15\u03bcm OPA film after retort processing under specified temperature conditions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the strength reduction caused by moisture and heat treatment, it is common to laminate PET film on the outermost layer when using OPA film for applications involving severe moisture and heat treatment, such as retort processing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3618\" src=\"https:\/\/toyobo.co.th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/4-e1733042394374.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/toyobo.co.th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/4-e1733042394374.webp 634w, https:\/\/toyobo.co.th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/4-e1733042394374-300x194.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Figure 5.
